This fabulous french Stockman mannequin dates to the 1940's and is a shapely but elegant lady.
She is a size 44 and stands on a nicely turned tripod base with a matching thistle shaped finial and both of these have a lovely warm patina. There are some old woodworm holes to the tripod and although there is no activity, it has been treated as a precaution.
She is marked 'Stockman' on her front at the bottom of her torso and also on her neck. 'Siegel Paris' is stamped on the reverse.
She is height adjustable by means of a turn key underneath. This is marked 'Paris' and 'Girard' which suggests that the key originated from a Buste Girard mannequin.
There are a few small tears to the cover...most noticably one on her neck, one on her shoulder blade and two on her bust.
There is also some old staining, rusty pin marks and three letters written on the back of her neck.
I think she's got just the right amount of wear, but then I like things to look as if they've had a life!
Height 156cm to 173cm
