This firesecreen dates from the 1940's and is decorated with charming Barbola work; a bowl of blue and pink flowers on a cream background and the edge is finished in gold.
In very good vintage condition with just a few things to point out, most of them to be expected with Barbola. There is crazing to the paint on the flowers but only a couple of small pieces have come away, both the tips of leaves (see images below) There is a also a teeny bit of paint loss here and there, nothing serious.
The paintwork to the flowers looks original but the leaves have possibly been repainted later although it was obviously done some time ago. There is a handle to the reverse where there are also a few grubby marks, but altogether, a lovely piece of usuable Barbola in excellent condition
