I always find items like this particularly fascinating. Someone obviously took a lot of time and trouble to sew this lovely cover and then make it up into a book and yet it remains unused.
The two crinoline ladies in a cottage garden are beautifully sewn onto a buff coloured linen which is stiffened with card and then multi-coloured paper pages have been sewn between the covers and held in place with a pink and gold ribbon.
It would make a lovely gift and could be used as a diary, recipe file etc....
Under the inside of the front cover the word 'kosiclad' can just be seen on the cardboard used as a stiffener. It sounds like some kind of clothing or lingerie but frustratingly I've hit a brick wall trying to find out further information. Still, we can be sure this dates to the 1930's or 40's.
In superb condition; near enough as perfect as the day it was made.
18 pages so 36 in all, front and back.
