This Vintage Life...



This is a lovely old illustrated copy of The Woman in White by the victorian novelist, Wilkie Collins. If you haven't read any Wilkie Collins I would urge you to do so and there is no better place to start than with The Woman in White, widely regarded as the first 'sensation novel'. I find it adds greatly to the atmosphere of the story if you read a genuine old copy, or perhaps that's just me! This is a nice, clean copy with several beautifully drawn black and white illustrations and a ribbon marker. Binding good and tight, pages clean and bright. A little fading to the spine. There is a name and address written very nicely in fountain pen on the second endpaper. Probably not a victorian copy but a little later. Hardcover, 614 pages
