This pair of cottage prints really are beauties and I think you'll agree, the epitome of 'chocolate box'.
The frames are equally attractive in two shades of green spattered with gold.
The artist is Sylvester Stannard (1870-1951) and I can just about read what looks like the word 'Evesham' on the remains of a label so at first I thought these could be views of Worcestershire but as Stannard was a Bedfordshire artist who painted locally, this seems unlikely. If you like the work of Helen Allingham, you'll love these!
I haven't found a date for these two particular paintings but these prints probably date to the 1930's.
Each 36cm x 26cm
The frames have a few chips here and there.
